Our bathroom is stuck in the 1970s and needs to be updated. Ideal would be a budget conscious make over with a simple, elegant feel that won't look dated in a few years. We would also like it to fit in with the rest of the house - a modern ranch style in northern California.
Replace the tub with a shower stall
Shower stall with seat/bench
Tiled floor in shower stall (not pan floor)
Keep the 2 sinks
No less storage than we currently have
Keep the open, airy feel
Lot of natural light, ergonomic fixtures, and a curbless shower enclosure would be pluses. We also like the look of glass shower doors with a rainfall shower head from the ceiling (or high on the wall) and a privacy screen for the toilet.
We're not planning to change the room walls or door/window openings but would consider it for the right design. In particular, the 10"x28" cut out by the door is used for a linen closet next door.
