I want a new master bath. Mine is old and contractor grade. My tub is too small (12” depth) to use for a relaxing bath. My goal is to have a serene area for bathing. I will need a shower/tub combo because I don’t think I have a large enough area for a separate shower. If I can go separate, I will, but I don't want a real small shower.
I have double sinks now, but it is not necessary. I use my bathroom to put on make-up and do my hair so a large vanity area is a must. Storage for my appliances and products is necessary. A seated vanity is optional, but would be nice also.
There is a linen closet in my bathroom that can be re-configured for the extra space, as long as I end up with storage space elsewhere. I like having drawers in the vanity area as well. I want adequate lighting for makeup application and showering, as well as capability for lowering the lighting when desired.
I like a ecclectic, funky, unexpected & hollywood glam. I wouldn’t mind having a small chandelier in the bathing area.
The location of the tub now, is too small for today’s standard tub sizes (60"). I don’t want to move the toilet if I don’t have to. I probably don’t have enough room, but I would love having the toilet closed off separately, or semi separately from the rest of the bath. I also want decorative/functional support bars to help with entry & exit from the bath tub.
I am thinking of wood flooring. If I go with tile, I will have them heated. Everything must be easy to clean. On the sink, I prefer undermount.
The window is 4' above the floor.
Would like to keep plumbing costs down. Bath tubs only come in 60" sizes & up.
A layout plan.
