First of all, thank you for the opportunity given with this Design Competition.
After reading the brief, we preferred to rethink it in a way to meet the requirements but also
to provide a good working environment.
Most important, the employees are not gathered in the same space as the idea is to
keep both Units acive.
The desks are organised in benches with frontal divisors and side personal storage / divisors. This composition allows to have a certain degree of privacy and keeps the space open and social.
Observing the pictures you uploaded, it is clear than some of the employees work on laptops. We assumed that they work most or part of the time outside the office. Therefore hot desks have been incorporated in one of the layout options. Option 1 shows 10 large desks and 2 hot desk seats. Option 2 shows 12 large desks.
Employees work more efficiently if they get sun light. Therefore the single offices and the Conference Room have been moved backward in order to keep the employees close to the South-faced windows.
The lounge space is combined with a small kitchen area. This is likely to become a very enjoyable space. This space is separate from the working area with a glazed partition. This allows plenty of sunlight to come through and keeps the noise contained.
The "ribs" located along the walls and the ceiling are a proposal to provide your Company's office the aesthetic plus to make it recognisable to your clients.
It is also a solution to:
- Keep hidden the downstanding structural beams.
- Provide sound absorbing.
- Unify the spaces thorugh the Design.
Given the internal height of the Units, a
mezzanine floor can be built above the offices
and the Conference Room to create storage
