Love the tiered gardn concept. Worked with topo. Love arched windows & doors. Great job on accessible Japanese. Main living not contiguous with ground, but feels fixable by burying basement more. No yoga room...that was a must!
+ thank you for paying such close attention to the RFP! + incorporated passive solar better than anyone else in the project + buried part of it—increases thermal mass + makes less visual impact on the landscape—great idea + included insulated north-facing roof + worked in detail with the topography - very helpful
We love the open shelf to divide the areas, the glass door for teenager room, the "guest room" cabinets. The cover for heaters is very nice. The design maximized the open area, provided a great laundry room, and the renderings were great. Thanks.
Really good job. We love the barn doors separating family room from laundry.
This was really interesting and a nice design. I love the open stairs and long hallway to the back. The problem I see is that you tried to fit a little too much in. There are too many small rooms eliminating a more open concept feel I think is needed here.
I apologize for the delay. Competition was tough. You have good taste in your selection of colors and distribution of the house. I liked how you made good use of the extension of the house in Option 2 though the roof extension could turn out to be very costly. I would like to continue to work with you in the future if feasible and would require you to propose another Option 1 and 2 alternative. I would like to mention that the other designs considered the insertion of a bathroom in between the entry and the kids bedroom + the laundry where the 2nd bathroom is located. These would be changes that we propose, and would like to know if you would be willing to finalize the design with these modifications + other minor modifications that we liked from the other designs. Bear in mind there was no single design that satisfied us completely. There are some bits and pieces of other that we believe would improve the overall design. You will need to tell us if you are willing to finalize the design and we would forward you the rest of the ideas.
A big THANK YOU for your delightful concept, I loved from the very first sight how light, airy, weightless and elegant it looks. A special thank you for the night illuminated version - it really conveys this warm secure feeling that will lighten up the rather deserted (after the circus show ends) street at night. The board meeting results: on the overall so far the board haven't approved any of the submissions unfortunately, saying that all prospective vestibules and stairs take too much pavement space. I am trying to figure out how to make the structure narrower now...
Very well done and met all criteria. Only Designer to address the dishwasher problem without rotating the island 90 degrees. Easily buildable and functional. The dark wood cabinets are not my personal style. Thank you very much.
Dear Arc 291, Thanks for your proposal, it will be difficult to do the final selection. Regards, Mikael.
Thank you for your submission. I appreciate the options provided in your materials list...complete with a few similar items at various price points. Overall, the project does appear to be quite buildable without a lot of additional effort. I particularly liked your bar idea that appears to seat four with plenty of space to hold the alcohol.
Nice renderings! thanks
While some elements may not be our style, and we felt the "observation deck" was a little lacking for a roof deck, we do appreciate all the detail.
The biggest problem was that this is ultra modern, but the design that we were going for was a mix of rustic and modern with slight japanese influences (see the info page). Its beautiful, but its just not quite what we were looking for. Also, the bathroom was completely omitted, and that was a part of the project. I do like it in principle though.
