1st floor remodel of a cape style home.
-The goal for the first floor is to have a more open floor plan with kitchen, eating area, and living room flow nicely. Off of this area will be a master suite with a large bathroom that has "public access" for guests.
-The home sits atop of a hill and get's great light on the backside of the home that needs to be incorporate into the design.
-Off off the eating area we are thinking a sliding glass door that goes onto a large deck. The deck should be just an extension of the kitchen and eating area. for the limited summer months Boston has we'd like to take full advantage of a indoor/outdoor area.
-Storage areas are VERY important in all areas. The 1st floor needs to have plenty of creative areas for storage, particularly in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom for clothes.
-Kitchen eating area should have enough room for 4 adults to sit and an area a small child could sit. A place a family of three could sit down nightly , current family in home is excepting first baby and planning to live in home at least 10 years.
-The home is located in Boston so please think of weather resistant or heat retaining energy savings materials.
-Looking for light and airy open concept please avoid colors such as black and brown.
-Fireplace can not be moved but everything else is flexible.
