We live on one acre north of Spokane, WA, USA.
This addition to the home was built as a great room 30 years ago. - See photos for further details.
Siding and paint are worn.
South side posts need to be replaced and ceiling of the overhang
will need to be replaced.
The house is ready for a facelift and boost in curb appeal.
1-Eliminate west door.
3-Replace posts with more substantial beam(s), posts and brackets.
We want post and beam construction with Japanese simplicity &/or Asian influence.
4-Replace west facing brackets consistent with south side and possibly other trim.
5-Build new ceiling into porch.
6-Replace south door with an exterior door that will become the main entry.
8 -Use new colors. We are looking for a color scheme that will complement and showcase the post and beam natural wood and include black contrasting trim.
We plan to execute as soon as possible.
Would like the option to continue with designer, but doesn't need to be on site.
We will choose the artistic, simple and authentic plan that is cohesive, affordable and best meets our goals.
Green design is important.
