This place has some nice existing Craftsman style elements, so I played those up in this idea and kept your lower budget in mind. Bricks on the lower level are painted to match the clapboards on the upper level. The fascia/skirtboard of the lower roof is painted to match the trim of the upper level. All vertical window dividers are painted light charcoal to help them disappear. The posts of the porte cochere are resurfaced with stone bottoms and painted wood tops. If budget allows, wood and glass double doors like the ones shown here would also tie in and make a warm friendly entrance. Gardens get some new mulch and fresh new plants hardy in your region: fun beautiful Silberfeder (Silver Feather Grass), Shenendoah Switch Grass which turns burgundy in the fall, and potted Holmstrup Arborvitae evergreens which would be extra stylish and festive at night with strings of year-round little white lights. If you'd like to see any particular variations of this idea or how other sides of the property would look in it, just let me know.
