Even though this weekend waterfront house in Spicewood, Texas, was site-built in 1970, it looks exactly like a mobile home. It is 60' wide, and only 8.5' tall at the entrance, has a front porch which juts out 6' from the entry door.
We want to change the boring exterior (front only) to increase curb appeal. We like simple and contemporary designs, and will put stucco once the new exterior is designed, What we are looking for is to change the absolutely flat front side to a new design, where some parts of the front may jut out a bit to create asymmetry, and which could include planter areas integrated with the house. A small part can also include exterior stones (the rest is stucco) if that makes it more interesting.
Basically we are looking for ideas to break the monotony of the long and flat exterior. We are not planning any addition to the internal living area. Our budget is $15-20k, which does NOT include the cost of stucco.
