I am an interior designer in Naples Florida (www.malibuwestinteriors.com) and am excited to explore new ways to interact with architects!
This is my own Pre-Constuction home built by a production builder. We will be making changes after we close on the property. I am looking ONLY for any interesting, but simple ceiling design for the Living room, Dining area, and Kitchen. The interior design furniture style will be Mid-Century Modern.
The style will be an open floor plan - the corner in the kitchen of upper cabinets which is between the dining room, is going to be removed.
The Living Room current ceiling has a raised soffit area, however I am not sure if the ceiling can be raised to one flat area. Ideally I would like to do that.... But am open to unusual ideas, some wood beams, vaulted slightly, off set panels, etc.
The flooring will be a light oak wood plank with an open grain, slightly rustic.
The dining room will have the long wall with wine storage built into a glazed white brick wall face.
There is some recessed lighting in the living and kitchen ceiling - and we will need to hang a ceiling fan in the center of the living room ceiling for our warm Florida weather.
I would like to integrate into the living room ceiling on the slider wall, a recessed pocket for operable draw drapery.
