A Tahoe Transitional Retreat
The house is located in the middle of Truckee, California where the weather is critical in this bathroom design. All the materials and design alternatives like the proposal of low ceilings gives a solution for the weather solution which is cold.
Some of the materials include vinyl flooring and ceiling, porcelain tile for durability and good maintenance and different woods for the furniture selections.
Two windows was also included to bring a little bit of light when showering and the other one was relocated in the middle of the bathroom.
The bathroom layout was based on the uses, one is the vanity, the other one the toilet and last the shower, they are located based on how many times these are used during the day.
Another important addition was the steam shower included with the popper storage for the steam generator which will also be used as towel and medicine storage.

Thank you for your constructive notes and the explanation of what you liked and what you would have liked to see in my proposal.
I’m from Miami and I didn’t understand at first the meaning of what a “cold bathroom” is.. until you send the exterior images which helped me on the development of the project.
I know it takes more than one proposal in order to achieve a final design, so in this case please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need more help.
For the tiles selections I advise you order some samples first to see what goes better for your bathroom and to see if in person looks the same. Another alternative for tiles is Floor & Decor, I saw there is one located near you in Reno. I have direct contact with tile vendors in Florida that could give me best quality products, there should be some direct tile import manufacturers near you too.
I never been to Truckee but I would love to go some time!, Good luck in your project!!
