My submission design includes the following major points:
A 15' X 20' new space to serve as a bedroom-master suite. This space faces North and East. The gable roof is designed to harmonize with the existing roof. The interior features a raised/cathedral ceiling to create a feeling of openness and light. In fact, the entire new space is designed for openness and light. The master suite is indicated by modular structures rather than enclosed walls. Only the toilet is actually enclosed.
Special design features include:
A curved carpet/rug to define the sleeping area.
A free-standing tub set at an angle
A dual vanity and mirrored medicine cabinet
Convenient shelving for toiletries
An ample towel closet adjacent to the shower
An indoor-outdoor fireplace strategically facing North
Enlarged existing closet with lights added
An additional linen closet
A three-color scheme that is aesthetically pleasing and relaxing; includes accent wall
Exposed beams that relate to the exposed beams in the existing house
Use same wood flooring as used in existing house or, optional cork flooring as indicated in Swatch Sampler, Page A-5 "LAY OUT AND FLOOR DESIGN".
