Attached are several design boards illustrating my concepts for your space. The design I’ve created emphasizes an open space with an up-to-date color scheme that flows well and is not hindered or complicated with unnecessary furniture or accessories.
While the size and configuration constraints of your space provided some challenges, I believe my design enhances the positive aspects of your room and deemphasizes any challenges. You will notice that the vanities and adjacent storage units are raised off the floor. This, coupled with the all-glass shower serve to deemphasize the small nature of the room while adding a feeling of spaciousness. The highly pitched ceiling also lends to a feeling of increased space and size.
I’ve used the beautiful tile you already have on the floor of the room. The darker color of the tile grounds the space and, placing the light sage-green subway tile in the shower adds a pop of color that serves to draw the eye upward to take in the soaring space on that side of the room. All pieces in the room are readily available in the United States from everyday-type outlets – Costco, Lowes, Home Depot, online vendors, etc. The case pieces – the vanities and the adjacent storage units - are semi-custom, in that they can be off-the-shelf unfinished cabinets embellished with a rich zebra wood veneer. I’ve added a zebra wood floor-to-ceiling accent on the wall behind the toilet to tie the design of the room together. Although the design of the room is drastically different from its look today, I do believe that this job can be kept within a very do-able budget with smart choices and perhaps a bit of help from the homeowner. I truly believe that beautiful design changes do not have to cost an arm and a leg!
Again, all the pieces on the design board and the renderings are actually pieces which are available in the United States. The paint is Behr paint from Home Depot. I’d be happy to share the lists of furniture, lighting, and materials with you when you choose to work with me on your design. Thank you for the opportunity to work on your space – I had a lot of fun with it, and look forward to the possibility to continue working with you!
