The idea behind the project rests on the belief that the strong community is in the heart of every successful organisation and in the center of millennials life. The building is organised around a central space for sport, rest and social interaction, that is called the canyon. The canyon consists of several bridges, that connect different parts of every open space floor. The canyon is separated from the office space with a curtain wall in order to avoid the transition of noise, which is the main complain about open space offices. The canyon can be covered with a glass roof or left open depending on the needs of the client. The bridges could also connect different levels in the building. The canyon tackles not only the noise pollution but also provides the inner part of the building with natural light. Having to deal with solid walls on both sides of the site, the canyon is the only solution that helps bringing natural light into the core of the building.
The typical floor plan also benefits from the canyon concept. The core divides the office floor plan into two along the whole building. Using the leasable offices as a natural barrier, the open office space is divided without being separated. Each small office narrows the space so that the belonging team can easily be distinguished. The floor is equipped with the desired amount of lockers + showers. Regarding safety and fire regulations the stairs are enclosed within two structural cores, that are needed to provide structural stability. The large open transition between levels and the encouragement for movement is achieved trough the bridges in the canyon.
More options for sport are provided via football field on the roof and jim space on the ground floor (separate for men and women). A drive through restaurant is also proposed, including the possibility for a sit down meal.
The project has the unique advantage of creating a central common space, that is vital for encouraging teamwork, fostering social interaction and adding overall value to our life.
