We are looking for a conceptual design/rendering of the interior living area for a residential dwelling focused on tenants who are musicians or play musical instruments. The work will be inserted into a draft proposal that is being submitted to the local planning commission in order to advocate for a zoning change.
The living area is being tentatively referred to a "musician loft" and will be part of a larger multifamily building. The building will carve out practice studios for residents and there is no floor plan as yet, so that is not part of the project. For now, we are only looking for an innovative and attractive loft design for 500-750 square foot, one-bedroom, residential units that appear to contain interior elements you might imagine a musician would prefer as well as design components such a sound suppressant wall or ceiling panels, a small practice area and any such other feature you can envision.
We have discussed a single-level, open concept living area that would show a livingroom area and perhaps kitchen and dining areas, but there are no restrictions on what rooms or components the space would contain. This is intended as a spin-off from the well known "artist loft," which is geared toward artist residents, so that is a pretty good starting point for the concept that is being proposed. Again, at this stage, we are only looking for a conceptual rendering of the interior layout and design. This is very much a design project where someone can dare to dream.
