First of all, thank you for the amazing opportunity you offered by launching this contest. We would like to present you a house that we wish you would consider as yours from the very first moment.
Your site is in an extreme climatic condition area. Therefore all our thoughts were directed to maximise the house energetic performance
The house is developed mainly on one floor with longer facades towards South and North.
The house is designed over a series of pillars and containment walls as if in presence of permafrost. So the building will float over the natural ground and its pillars will look like trees in a forest.
An unique and sinuous shape wraps the roof, the walls facing North and the underside of the house to protect it from the cold where is required.
This shape creates variable internal heights, decreasing from South to North. Heat would be prevented to spread uniformly in the entire house and will convey to the rooms you spend most of your time.
A spiral ramp will connect the house with the ground and create an unexpected landing to the lobby. In a way, it emphasizes the natural design approach to the whole project.
